Stephanie D. Shearer Joins Suburban Community Hospital’s Medical Group

East Norriton, PA (September 1, 2021) – Stephanie D. Shearer, DO, board-certified in family medicine, has joined Suburban Community Hospital’s Medical Group.

She most recently practiced at Detweiler Family Medicine in Lansdale, PA. The practice services Montgomery and Bucks counties. Dr. Shearer focuses on comprehensive general medical care to individuals of all ages, with a continuous emphasis on prevention and early detection of disease. Additionally, Dr. Shearer was involved in clinical research trials at Detweiler Family Medicine.

Dr. Shearer has more than 14 years of family medicine experience. Her area of interest is in diabetes education and empowering patients to take control of their medical outcomes.

“Being a primary care physician allows me to deliver high quality care to the community by providing all ages at different stages of life with the knowledge, guidance, and support they need to achieve a healthy lifestyle,” said Dr. Shearer.

Dr. Shearer graduated from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia with a bachelor of science in Biology in 1999. She then obtained her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in Philadelphia in 2003. Her family medicine internship was at St. Luke’s Hospital, in Allentown, Pennsylvania in 2004 and her residency in family medicine was at St. Luke’s in 2006.

Her memberships include Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association, and American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.

Dr. Shearer is also certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
