Suburban Community Hospital consistently achieves ‘A’ ratings in Hospital Safety from the Leapfrog Group
The latest grade for Fall 2024 highlights the hospital’s dedication to ensuring patient safety on a national level
East Norriton, PA (November 23, 2024)– Suburban community Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare Foundation, has been awarded an “A” Hospital Safety Grade by The Leapfrog Group, a respected independent nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing patient safety. Leapfrog evaluates general hospitals nationwide, assigning grades from “A” to “F” based on more than 30 performance metrics that assess errors, accidents, injuries, infections, and the preventive measures hospitals implement.
Alongside this notable achievement, Suburban Community Hospital has once again earned an ‘A’ grade for the third time in a row, spanning Fall 2023 and both Spring and Fall 2024. This accomplishment places the hospital among a select group of just three healthcare systems within a 10-mile radius to receive such honors in the Fall 2024 Hospital Safety Grade awards from The Leapfrog Group, contributing to a total of seven hospitals recognized by Leapfrog in the region.
“This recognition from Leapfrog Group, a respected national nonprofit organization, underscores the commitment of every team member at Suburban Community Hospital to provide outstanding care, minimize errors, and uphold high patient safety standards,” stated Michael Motte, Chief Executive Officer of Suburban Community Hospital. “This remarkable achievement is a testament to the enduring dedication of our entire healthcare team in ensuring positive experiences for our patients.”
Over the last year, 85 percent of Prime hospitals earned “A” ratings from The Leapfrog Group.
“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade is a significant accomplishment for Suburban Community Hospital,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It reflects enormous dedication to your patients and their families, and your whole community should be proud. I extend my congratulations to Suburban Community Hospital, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for their tireless efforts to put patients first.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
