Following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, Suburban Community Hospital has canceled all previously scheduled events and classes. Events and classes will reconvene at a later date.
Individuals who are registered for an event or class will be contacted to reschedule. If you were not contacted please contact the number on your registered event for details.
While we understand the important role that family members and visitors play in a patient’s healing process, our new policies (which align with many other area hospitals and health systems) aim to balance the needs of patients while maintaining a safe environment for all.
We will continue to monitor this situation. The need for visitor restrictions will be re-evaluated regularly.
Delaware Valley Pulmonary Hypertension Support Group
Meets the 2nd Saturday, Monthly
From 1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. in the Gerber Room on the 2nd floor
Support groups offer:
- Knowledge: Learn medical, lifestyle and psychosocial information from experts; share tips with fellow patients and caregivers
- Support: Living with PH can be difficult, but you are not alone – talk to others who understand, who will cheer you on!
What is Pulmonary hypertension (PH): This is a complex and often misunderstood disease. The term PH means high blood pressure in the lungs. In “regular” hypertension (also known as high blood pressure or “systemic hypertension) the pressure in the arteries throughout the body is higher than it should be. This can be measured with a blood pressure cuff. In PH, the blood vessels specifically in the lungs are affected. They can become stiff, damaged or narrow, and the right side of the heart must work harder to pump blood through.
